How to Use Flash Video Server
Flash Video Server is a Flash media server that enables to create various virtual hosts with different domain names. With these domain names video-sharing-site enthusiasts can provide video playing, recording, and live video publishing services to their end users. In this tutorial, you will get to know the way to use the management consoles of this server. First, please install Flash Video Server. This is a trial version that limits in playing (10min) and recording (2min). To purchase the full version, please click Buy now. Once you installed the server, it will be started automatically and be added to the Startup of the OS. To start it manually just click Start> Programs> Moyea> Flash Video Server> StartServerService. And then you can enter the FVS Manager and VH Manager. FLV Manager: This manager is for creating and managing virtual hosts. Click “Start> Programs> Moyea> Flash Video Server> FLV Manager” to run. To enter this manager, you can enter rtmp://127.0.0.1 in the Address box, and the admin name and password you set while installing.
Main interface of FVS Manager And then you will face the main interface of this manager. On the left pane, you can add, edit, and delete virtual hosts by clicking the relative buttons on the Virtual Host List bar. The information of the selected virtual host will be shown on the right.
Configuration By clicking the configuration tab you can configure the resource and abnormal log. You are able to set the Console port, Worker threads, RTMP port, I/O threads with the Resource Configuration. To set the way to generate an abnormal log, you can click the Abnormal Log.
Other settings of FLV Manager With the tab of Other, you can set the password for FVS administrator and VH administrator. Once confirmed, you must use the new password to enter the relative managers next time.

With this manager, you are able to create many virtual hosts with different domain names and sell them to enthusiasts who plan to run a video-streaming website. They can manage their users and FLV files with the VH Manager. VH Manager: To run this manager, you can click “Start> Programs> Moyea> Flash Video Server> VH Manager”. You can enter it with the virtual host address, VH administrator account and password, or FVS administrator account and password.
And then the following interface will show up. You can add or delete applications with the button “+” or “x” on the Application bar. To add or delete instances just click “+” or “x” on the right.
Configuration of VH Manager In this section, you are able to set the max connection, max life time of idle resource, the way to create a statistic log, and IP address permission. So that only users in certain IP addresses are able to access this virtual host.
Users section of VH Manager This section is especially for managing users for this virtual host. You can create new users and new groups. You can also change your VH administrator password here.
Files section of VH Manager In this section, you can specify power to the application instances and files, so that only the empowered users are able to play, record, or publish live video on this virtual host.
But how can the end users play, record, and publish videos? Flash Video Server provides you some samples of playing, recording and living console. Client-side developers can also create their own user consoles. The way to reach the samples is “Start> Programs> Moyea> Flash Video Server> Sample”. Below is a snapshot of the playing console.
